Viewer Sign-In Is Blocked

Use this guide if the embedded Discord viewer says your browser blocked the sign-in popup, if clicking Sign in with Discord does nothing, or if you are opening the embed from Notion Desktop.

If you are using Notion in a regular browser

  1. Click the popup-blocked icon in your browser's address bar.
  2. Allow popups for the NotiCord viewer page.
  3. Reload the Notion page.
  4. Return to the embed and click Try embedded sign-in again.

If your browser does not show a popup-blocked icon, open the site settings for the viewer page and allow popups there, then reload the Notion page and try again.

If you are using Notion Desktop

Notion Desktop usually cannot finish Discord sign-in inside the embed.

  1. Open the same Notion page in Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
  2. If Notion keeps reopening the desktop app, use Notion's Open in browser action or turn on Open Notion links in browser in Notion Desktop settings.
  3. Retry the viewer sign-in from the browser version of the Notion page.

What not to rely on

Opening a standalone viewer tab is not a reliable way to unlock the original embed. Fix the popup setting on the current viewer page, or move the Notion page itself into a regular browser when you are in Notion Desktop.

If it still fails in a regular browser

If popups are already allowed and the viewer still cannot load, check Discord channel permissions next.
