Scheduled Summaries Reference

Use this page when you need the exact behavior of a scheduled summary. If you are setting up your first one, start with Scheduled Summaries.

New scheduled summaries start with the default name Summary until you rename them.

What a scheduled summary includes

Every scheduled summary has:

  1. Source: one shared Notion database or data source
  2. Filters: the items that must match right now
  3. Summary list fields: the row fields shown in the Discord list
  4. Summary item details: the fields shown after someone opens one item from the list
  5. Destination: one Discord channel
  6. Cadence: hourly or daily

Source

  • Scheduled summaries work on shared Notion databases or data sources
  • If a source is missing from the picker, refresh the picker or paste the database or data source URL/ID
  • Newly shared databases can take up to 1 minute to appear

Filters

  • Filter rows are combined with AND
  • Filters check the current item state at run time
  • Supported operators depend on property type
    • text-like properties and string formulas: Contains, Is, Is not, Is set, Is not set
    • People: Is, Is not, Is unassigned, Is set, Is not set
    • Status, Select, Multi-select, Relation, Checkbox, and boolean formulas: Is, Is not, Is set, Is not set
    • Number and number formulas: Equals, Does not equal, Greater than, Greater than or equal, Less than, Less than or equal, Is set, Is not set
    • Date and date formulas: On, Before, After, On or before, On or after, Is set, Is not set
  • People filters use Notion users from the connected workspace
  • Relation filters use the related page picker from the selected data source
  • Formula filters follow the current formula result type

Summary list fields

  • Select the row fields you want
  • Add Title if you want the item title shown in the summary list
  • After you pick a database, NotiCord preselects a compact row layout such as Title, one key workflow field, and Details
  • Choose at least one row field before saving or previewing the summary list
  • Row fields appear in the compact Discord list in the order you choose
  • Empty values stay visible as a dash instead of disappearing
  • Optional: choose the sort order for the summary list
  • Optional: turn on Header row to show column labels above the list
  • Optional: turn on row mentions so visible People columns render as Discord mentions
  • In the editor, these controls live under Summary content

Summary item details

  • Choose the fields shown after someone clicks Details
  • Summary item details use a separate field selection from the summary list
  • After you pick a database, NotiCord preselects common detail fields such as Title, Status, Assignee, Date, and Content when they exist
  • If the summary list includes Details, choose at least one details field before saving
  • Optional: include images/videos and uploaded files on the summary item details card
  • Optional: keep selected empty properties visible
  • The editor preview includes both the list and the summary item details preview
  • Use Send preview from either tab to send the currently visible draft preview before you save

Quick actions

  • Optional. Scheduled summaries use the same quick-action builder as page lists and notification rules.
  • Quick actions appear on the summary item details card after someone clicks Details
  • In the editor, quick actions have their own section below Summary item details
  • New scheduled summaries start with no quick actions

Destination

  • Every scheduled summary sends to exactly one Discord channel
  • The target channel must be in the connected server
  • NotiCord checks whether the bot can post in that channel before save

Cadence and timing

  • Hourly runs once per hour and is available on Team only
  • Daily runs once during the chosen hour in the selected timezone
  • Changing a daily run later to an hour that has not happened yet can trigger another run the same day
  • Changing it earlier waits until the next day

Delivery behavior

  • Each run builds a fresh summary from the items that match at that moment
  • If Only send when there are results is on, empty runs are skipped
  • If Only send when there are results is off, NotiCord sends a message saying no items match right now
  • Posted summaries can show up to 10 matching items in one Discord message
  • Posted summaries are interactive: each item row includes Details
  • Editor previews keep the current card visible and show a loading indicator while they refresh
  • Sent previews and live scheduled summaries use the same standard NotiCord footer
  • Opened-item cards keep structured page body content such as toggle text, callouts, numbered items, and small tables when it fits. Small tables render as aligned Discord tables with up to 5 rows and up to 3 source columns plus an ... overflow column when more columns exist

Mentions

  • Mention people in row fields is optional
  • Mentions come from the People-type properties shown in the summary list
  • Only Discord-linked users can be mentioned
  • Mentions are added only for the items included in the posted summary

History and status

  • Use History on the Scheduled Summaries page to review recent delivery attempts
  • Turn a summary On or Off from its card on the Scheduled Summaries page

Limits

  • Solo: 1 scheduled summary, daily cadence only
  • Team: up to 3 scheduled summaries, hourly or daily
