Scheduled Summaries
Use Scheduled Summaries when you want NotiCord to post a fresh summary of matching Notion items to a Discord channel automatically.
How Scheduled Summaries work
- A scheduled summary targets one shared Notion data source.
- It builds the summary when the run happens, so Discord gets the items that match at that moment.
- It posts one Discord message to the channel you choose.
- It does not depend on Discord Commands or page lists.
Before you begin
- Share the database or data source with NotiCord in Notion.
- Make sure the NotiCord bot can post in the target Discord channel.
- Decide which filters, summary content, summary item details, and cadence you want.
Create a scheduled summary
- Go to Scheduled Summaries
- Click New summary
- Start from the default name, Summary, or rename it
- Pick the shared Notion database or data source
- Pick the Discord channel
- Choose Hourly or Daily
- If the summary is daily, choose the run hour and timezone
- In When should it run?, choose whether to skip empty runs
- Add one or more current-item filters
- In Summary content, review the default row fields that NotiCord seeds from the database, then adjust them. Add Title if you want the item title shown there, and choose at least one row field before saving or previewing the summary.
- In Summary content, choose the sort, optional header row, and optional row mentions
- In Summary item details, review the default details fields used after Details and any content options for the summary item details card. If the summary list includes Details, choose at least one details field before saving.
- Optional: add quick actions for the summary item details card. They start empty.
- Save
After you save, the summary appears on the Scheduled Summaries page and starts following its schedule.
Plan limits
Solo plans support 1 scheduled summary and daily runs only. Team plans support up to 3 scheduled summaries with hourly or daily cadence.
⚠️ If you change the run time
Moving a daily summary later to an hour that has not happened yet can make it run again that same day. Moving it earlier waits until the next day.
Preview before saving
- The editor preview shows both the Summary content and the Summary item details preview
- The list preview uses current matching items from the selected database
- The Summary item details preview lets you switch between those matching items
- When the preview refreshes after a sample or config change, the current card stays visible with a loading indicator on top
- The summary item details card keeps more structured page body content when it fits, including toggle text, callouts, numbered items, and small tables. Small tables render as aligned Discord tables with up to 5 rows and up to 3 source columns plus an
...overflow column when more columns exist - Stay on either preview tab and use Send preview to send the currently visible draft preview before you save
- If you need help while setting it up, use Ask for help in the preview header to open the in-app support form
- Preview does not save the summary or move its schedule
- Sent previews and live scheduled summaries use the same standard NotiCord footer
- In Discord, posted summaries use the same flow: click Details on an item to see its details card
What users often miss
- Scheduled Summaries is separate from Discord Commands. A page list does not create a scheduled post.
- Filters check the current item state at run time, not just what changed since the previous run.
- Posted summaries are interactive lists, so each message can show up to 10 items.
- Row mentions use the People-type properties shown in the summary list.
- Only Discord-linked users can be mentioned.
- Turn summaries on or off from their cards on the Scheduled Summaries page.
- Remove summaries from their cards on the Scheduled Summaries page.
Use Scheduled Summaries Reference for exact option behavior.
