Creating Your First Rule

Create Your First Rule in 3 Steps

1. Click "New Rule" in Dashboard

Go to Rules → Click "+ New Rule" button

2. Pick Database & Channel

Select Notion database:

  • Task DBs (have Status property) → Get quick action buttons
  • Page DBs → Read-only notifications

Select Discord channel:

  • Bot must have "Send Messages" permission there

3. Choose When to Notify

Page Created - New pages appear in Discord instantly → Best for tracking new tasks/content

Page Updated - Get notified when properties change → Required: Pick which properties to watch (Status, Assignee, etc.) → Optional: Filter to specific status values only

Quick Examples

New Task Alerts

Database: Product Tasks
Channel: #product-updates
Event: Page Created

Status Changes Only

Database: Sprint Board
Channel: #dev-team
Event: Page Updated
Watched: Status property
Filter: Done, Blocked (optional)

Test It Out

  1. Create a test page in your Notion database
  2. Check Discord (notification appears in ~3 seconds)
  3. Task DBs only: Click "Assign to me" or status buttons
